Maybe I am not the artsy fartsy kind of gal but I just did not care for this movie at all!! I love Philip Seymour Hoffman and generally enjoy his work but there was something about this movie that I couldn't wrap myself around.
I knew a bit of the backstory so it wasn't a complete shocker when he opened his mouth and it was just so quiet. I knew the premise of his book (although I did not know that he never completed another novel afterwards)... something about this picture just turned me off.
If you like quasi noir intellectual films then you should feel all warm and fuzzy... I guess I just like my films to be warm and fuzzy too!
